One of the grandest homes in Detroit will be getting a makeover.

The Charles T. Fisher Mansion, which sold to actor Hill Harper earlier this year for $1.25 million, will be the the Junior League of Detroit’s Designer Show House for 2018. The Designers’ Show House is their biennial fundraiser, and it’s their first time actually in Detroit.

The event is currently scheduled for September 13 through October 7, 2018.

Interior and landscape designers will be chosen to redesign the estate. After, tours will be offered to raise funds for the Junior League’s health and nutrition initiative.

Built in 1922 by George D. Mason, the Charles T. Fisher Mansion is the largest home in the historic Boston Edison district. At just under 18,000 square feet, the estate includes 14 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, a pub, a private chapel, gymnasium, carriage house, and a prohibition era liquor vault. We toured the house last year.

Harper has starred on CSI: NY, How It Really Happened with Hill Harper, and Homeland. This fall, Harper will begin his role as Dr. Marcus Andrews on The Good Doctor on ABC. He also purchased The Roasting Plant in downtown Detroit and founded the Manifest Your Destiny Foundation.
