Here’s what $60K can buy in Detroit right now

Bungalow? Co-op?

For this week’s Curbed Comparisons, we found four homes across Detroit, all within $10,000 of our modest budget: $60,000. Which part of the city and which home would you choose? Vote below.

19020 Chandler Park Drive

The first is a cute move-in ready home on Chandler Park Drive near Grosse Pointe. It has three bedrooms, one and a half baths, a backyard, and a basement for storage. It’s listing right at our budget for $59,000.

18810 Gable Street

Here’s another three bedroom, one and a half bath home. This one’s located in northeast Detroit, off Mound Road. This one’s listing for $60,000, which compared to the last one’s location, may be a little high.

18415 Winston Street

Here’s a four bedroom, one and a half bath house near Redford. It could certainly use some sprucing up, and we think a new paint color outside could do wonders. It’s listed for $52,000.

1300 East Lafayette #305

Here’s a small one bedroom, one bath co-op on the third floor of 1300 East Lafayette. The location puts you close to downtown, and the building also features a pool and fitness room. The price is high for our budget though—$65,400 with $950 per month in HOA fees.
