This weekend, downtown shoppers will have a rare opportunity to browse for Pewabic wares in one of the most beautiful places in Detroit. A pop-up Pewabic shop will be held Saturday and Sunday, January 20 and 21 from 12-4 p.m. in the lobby of the Guardian Building.

Giftware and Pewabic items will be available for shopping, along with reps from Pewabic’s design team. Archivist Kimmie Dobos will discuss the history of Pewabic specifically in the Guardian Building, and author Cara Catallo will be available on Saturday to sign copies of her book, Pewabic Pottery: A History Handcrafted in Detroit.

Not able to make it to this pop-up downtown? Pewabic has a variety of special events in addition to their design studio tours at their building on East Jefferson. For more information on this and other events (including a discussion and exhibit on “Vessels for and related to drinking,” opening this Friday), check out their events page.
