Here’s what $135K can buy in Detroit right now

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we look at different homes for sale around the city listed in a certain price range. For the price of a mansion in one neighborhood, we might find a condo in another. This week, we’re looking at homes within $10,000 of our budget: $135,000. Not crazy about these choices? First up is this newly remodeled three bedroom, one full and one half bath brick home in Bagley. The house has great curb appeal, a new kitchen, new bath fixtures, and some nice plaster work. It also has nice archways and hardwood floors, but feels a little cold in its new design. Maybe some warm colors of paint could help? It’s located right in between 6 and 7 Mile and it’s listed at the top end of our budget at $144,900.

8503 Marygrove Drive

This contemporary 1940 home is adjacent to Marygrove’s campus, just south of our first house. It has three bedrooms, one full and two half baths, a new kitchen, new paint, and a semi-finished basement. It’s a bit all over the place in its design. This house is listed for $129,900.

16722 Fielding Street

This three bedroom home has one of the strangest dining rooms we’ve seen. Seriously, can someone explain the mirrors? It’s recently flipped, and has a new kitchen, new bath fixtures, and a Florida room. It’s located right in between North Rosedale Park and Old Redford, so it’s close to plenty of businesses. It’s listing for $130,000.

Maybe you want to live a little closer to downtown? We saw this New Center condo a few weeks ago. For $139,000, this two bedroom, one bath, 850-square-foot condo is located near the QLine and the Fisher Building.
