Construction to close freeways, lanes in downtown Detroit this weekend

Winter is coming and that means construction crews are working to get road projects done ahead of freezing weather. For this weekend, it means many freeways in Detroit will see detours and lane closures.

Note that I-94 is closed from 75 to Conner.

Keep in mind that multiple events are occurring downtown Friday night, the Pistons play at the LCA Saturday night, and the Lions have a home game on Sunday.

MDOT also has a map of construction taking place in the Metro area. Here’s a rundown of what to expect:

I-94

EB I-94 Closed, 75 to Conner, Friday 9 p.m.-Monday 5 a.m. with ramp closures beginning 8:30pm.

WB I-94, Conner to Gratiot, left lane closed, Friday 9 p.m.-Saturday 2 p.m.

I-75

NB/SB I-75 ramps to EB I-94, ramps closed, Friday 9 p.m.-Monday 5 a.m.

NB I-75, Outer Drive to Schaefer, left lane blocked, Saturday & Sunday, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

I-96

EB I-96, Davison to I-94, 2 lanes closed, 2 open, Friday 7 p.m.-Saturday 7 p.m.

WB I-96, I-94 to Davison, 2 right lanes closed, 2 left open, Saturday 7 p.m.-Monday 5a.m.

EB I-96 ramp to EB I-94, ramp closed, Friday 9 p.m.-Monday 5 a.m.

EB I-96 ramp to W Grand Blvd, ramp closed, Friday 9 p.m.-Monday 5 a.m.

WB I-696, US-24 to I-275, 1 lane open, 3 closed nightly, 9 p.m.-5 a.m., Wednesday-Friday and 9 p.m.-8 a.m., Friday-Sunday.

NB/SB M-10 ramps to EB I-94, ramps closed, Friday 9 p.m.-Monday 5am.

M-39:
