Fixer-uppers, move-in ready homes, and more

Welcome to this week’s Curbed Comparisons, where we look at homes for sale in different neighborhoods around Detroit. Today, we’re looking at houses within $10,000 of our budget: $70,000.

This week’s price range can snag a riverfront condo in Detroit. This one-bedroom, one-bath unit isn’t perfect, but it can fit an oversized couch in the living area. It’s 625 square feet and sits across from Belle Isle. HOA fee is $556 and includes most utilities and maintenance. It’s listing for $72,000.

This northwest Detroit home has three bedrooms, two baths, a front porch, a fireplace surrounded by built-ins, hardwood floors, a basement for storage, and some new updates throughout. It’s just under 1,000 square feet and it’s listed for $64,900.

Not all of the choices will be move-in ready. This Southwest home has four bedrooms, one-and-a-half baths, hardwood floors, and front bay windows. It needs some fresh inspiration and someone willing to put some work into it. This house is listed for $69,900.

For those wanting to be landlords, this brick duplex sits west of the Lodge near Fenkell. Each unit has two bedrooms and the property is in decent condition. It’s listed for $79,000.

On the East side, here’s a little fixer-upper with a lot of land. The house is just 830 square feet, with three bedrooms and one-and-a-half baths. It needs a lot of work inside, and it comes with adjacent lots. This property is listed for $70,000.
