What $1,400 rents in Detroit right now

From a small apartment in New Center to a brick house in Rosedale Park

Welcome to this week’s installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at rentals within $100 of today’s price: $1,400.

First up is this lovely one-bedroom, one-bath flat at the Fisher Kahn Apartments in New Center. This apartment has a balcony, a gated parking spot, and a washer and dryer in the kitchen. It’s across from the Fisher Building, close to the Qline, the cultural center, Wayne State, and Midtown, and it’s renting for $1,400 per month.

Another one-bedroom, one-bath apartment in this week’s price range comes in at Orleans Landing. This newer development is located along the East Riverfront, and it’s under new management. The pet-friendly apartments include amenities like a club house, an outdoor entertaining space, and a fitness room. It’s located just east of downtown, and a 661-square-foot apartment will run $1,395 per month.

In Corktown, a two-bedroom, one-bath upper flat is coming in at the top of this week’s price range. This apartment includes access to a large backyard and there’s communal laundry in the basement. It’s close to all the shops and restaurants in Corktown, and it’s also close to downtown and the west riverfront. Rent is coming in at $1,500 per month.

This three-bedroom brick home is located up in Rosedale Park. It has recent updates to the kitchen and bathroom, along with some original charm. The house also has a large backyard and a basement. It’s close to shops along Grand River Avenue in northwest Detroit, and it’s renting for $1,300 per month.

This apartment building in Milwaukee Junction along the 94 Service Drive just got a fresh new makeover. In this week’s price range, a one-bedroom, one-bath apartment is available here (one for $1,300, one for $1,325). Everything’s new, and it’s located close to Midtown, Wayne State, and the Qline.
