With a coffee bar

When looking for starter homes, we tend to consider houses that are a not too big, not too expensive, and that don’t need a lot of work. This listing in northwest Detroit could be a good fit for a person or couple looking for that first house.

It comes in at a manageable 1,178 square feet, and has some recent updates along with the kind of character you’re likely to find in older Detroit houses. It has wood floors, cute archways, a unique fireplace in the living room, built-ins, a newer kitchen, three bedrooms, one-and-a-half baths, and a bar in the basement. Of course, this bar is a little different in that, at least in the listing, it’s set up for coffee. But it makes for a cozy additional living space. The house also has a two-car garage. It’s located in the Miller Grove neighborhood, just off of Grand River. It’s listed through David Bolling with Wayne Bolling Realty Group for $72,999.
