New Shinola store opening downtown on Friday

The Shinola Hotel is set to open by the end of the year, and a new retail shop will open at 1424 Woodward this Friday. It will be the 27th brick and mortar Shinola store in the country, at the first hotel for the design brand.

The shop will open at 10 a.m. November 23.

The 1,600-square-foot store will offer a a full lineup of the brand’s items, including the Runwell Desk Clock, the Shinola Hotel Leather Pillow, and the Shinola Hotel Throw Blanket. The free monogramming service will also be offered to guests purchasing journals and leather goods. Custom engraving will also be available for select jewelry pieces.

A variety of local and national retailers are opening at or near the Shinola Hotel. Madewell opened a store earlier this fall. Drought, fragrance maker Le Labo, and clothing store Good Neighbor are also set to open retail locations imminently. Many bars and restaurants are also slated to open at the hotel.

The Shinola store will be open Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

When open, the hotel will have 129 guest rooms in over 50 configurations. The main building is at 1400 Woodward, but multiple other buildings have been constructed across a city block for the hotel. An alley will also be activated through the block.
