Here’s what $130K buys in Detroit right now

Which neighborhood would you choose?

Welcome to this week’s Curbed Comparisons, where we look at homes for sale in different neighborhoods around Detroit. Today, we’re looking at houses within $10,000 of our budget: $130,000.

First up is a flipped four-bedroom in Martin Park. It has a handsome fireplace in the living room, a new kitchen, updated electrical and plumbing, a new furnace, a new roof, and new windows. It’s close to the University of Detroit Mercy and the Avenue of Fashion, and it’s listing for $129,900.

A similar-looking house on the East side boasts an updated kitchen, a two-car garage, refinished floors, three bedrooms, and a fenced yard. This Morningside house is close to many businesses in Grosse Pointe, and it’s listed for $139,000.

This brick house in northwest Detroit off the Lodge has three bedrooms, an updated kitchen, a fenced yard, storage or extra living space in the basement, and plenty of closet space. It’s listing for $129,900.

This four-bedroom house in Bagley has also just been refinished, with a new kitchen, new carpeting, extra living space in the basement, and a fenced backyard. It’s listing for $120,000.

This East Village home is loaded with built-ins, hardwood floors, beams, and wood trim. It has three bedrooms, one bath, and very few neighbors. It’s close to businesses in the Villages and Belle Isle and it’s listing for $129,000.
