For those looking to peruse the shopping or events along Woodward Avenue during December—rejoice! The Qline announced that rides will be complimentary from December 15-January 1 thanks to the Kresge Foundation, the Quicken Loans Family of Companies, and the Penske Corporation.

Rip Rapson, president of The Kresge Foundation, says. “We’re supporting QLINE Happy Holidays to say ‘thanks’ to our regular users, and to say ‘welcome’ to those who have yet to discover this state-of-the-art streetcar and Woodward Corridor transformation.”

The Qline Happy Holidays promo will run during all service hours beginning at 8 a.m on Saturday, December 15 and ending at midnight on January 1, 2019. Streetcars typically arrive every 10-12 minutes during peak service and 15-20 minutes during off-peak hours.

The Qline isn’t always the most dependable transportation—it runs with traffic and sometimes parked cars will hold up the streetcar. But a lot of development and restaurants have opened around the rail since it was announced.

Need ideas for destinations? The Rainbow City Roller Rink is right across from Campus Martius. Many shops are located in the Fisher Building and the Park Shelton building. And the museums are within walking distance of the Warren Avenue stop.
