Condo or fixer-upper?

Welcome to this week’s Curbed Comparisons, where we look at homes for sale in different neighborhoods around Detroit. Today, we’re looking at houses within $10,000 of our budget: $200,000.

Last week, a completely renovated home in Corktown listed for $445,000. Here’s a big time before picture, with three bedrooms, 2,000 square feet, and a garage. This Victorian clearly needs everything, and it’s coming in at our price range at $195,000.

Here’s another fixer-upper choice in a trendy neighborhood. This six-bedroom house is in West Village, close to Belle Isle. It’s 2,500 square feet and a total rehab, coming in at $209,000.

Not looking to do any work? This two-bedroom loft is right across from Belle Isle. It has an updated kitchen with an island, along with wood floors and exposed brick. The building has a pool and secure parking, and this loft is listing for $195,000 ($445 in HOA fees).

This Riverfront Towers condo is on the smaller side at 553 square feet with one bedroom and a small kitchen. Amenities at the towers include a salon, grocer, and fitness center. This condo is listing for $195,000, with $300 per month in HOA fees.

Across from the DIA in Midtown is a one-bedroom Park Shelton condo. It has nice architectural details and hardwood floors. The $308 HOA fee includes utilities and parking. It’s close to Wayne State and the hospitals and it’s priced at $205,000.
