The area near Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills is about to get a lot busier, as Topgolf opens its first Michigan location on Friday, December 7. The three-level, 65,000-square-foot recreation and entertainment complex right off of I-75 is expected to attract 450,000 visitors a year.
The company’s site compares the games to bowling, except with bays instead of lanes, where you hit golf balls toward a target. The venue will have over 100 hitting bays with microchipped balls for keeping score, over 200 HDTVs, a rooftop terrace with a fire pit, event space, and multiple restaurants and bars.

Social leagues, golf tournaments, and events for families and kids will also be offered.
Pricing increases depending on the time of day, with a bay renting for $25 per hour until noon, then $35 until 5 p.m., and $45 until close.
Topgolf will be open 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
The MGM Grand in Detroit currently has a Topgolf Swing Suite, with virtual games and food and drink.
