For $150K, a charming home near the State Fairgrounds

Earlier this week, we looked at a community group’s efforts in promoting a community-friendly, walkable, green infrastructure, transit-oriented vision for the stalled development at the State Fairgrounds. The land is located right at the edge of the northern suburbs, and near Detroit neighborhoods like Sherwood Forest, Green Acres, and Palmer Park. Now, we have a listing just north of Highland Park that’s worth looking at.

It’s located right off of Woodward, across from the Palmer Park Golf Course between 6 and 7 Mile. The four bedroom house has both original detailing—plaster work, a winding staircase, leaded glass, hardwood floors—and some unusual modern upgrades. We can imagine that basement bar was put to good use back in the day, but could certainly use some cleaning and updating. No kitchen photos, unfortunately. The house also has great curb appeal. We’re thinking the price might be a little lofty, but we haven’t seen a lot for sale in this area. What do you think, readers?
