Here’s what $1,000 rents in Detroit right now

Welcome to this week’s installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at rentals within $100 of today’s price: $1,000.

East Palmer at Woodward

In the Cultural Center of Midtown, this one bedroom, 700-square-foot apartment has been recently renovated. It has hardwood floors, a new kitchen and new bathroom, and off-street parking. It’s located near Wayne State, New Center, and the College for Creative Studies, and it’s close to a Qline stop. It’s renting for $925 per month.

Commonwealth and Warren

Over in Woodbridge, here’s a two bedroom, one bath apartment available in our price range. It has hardwood floors, a cute fireplace, nice wood trim, and some off-street parking. It’s also close to Wayne State and Midtown. It’s listed for $1,100 per month, plus gas and electric.

20167 Gardendale Street

In Green Acres, this three bedroom brick house is available in our price range. It has a large living room, a retro kitchen, a very pink bathroom, and a wood-panelled den. It’s just a few blocks off of Livernois near 8 Mile, and it’s listing for $1,000 a month.

1155 Virginia Park Street

Over on Virginia Park west of the Lodge, here’s a 1,700-square-foot, three bedroom apartment that has some updates. Here, you’ll find hardwood floors, a clawfoot tub, new counter tops in the kitchen, and a backyard. It’s located near the Henry Ford Hospital and New Center and it’s listed for $1,095 per month.

4352 Kensington Avenue

$1,000 per month will rent this four bedroom, one and a half bath house in East English Village (the Curbed Cup neighborhood of the year). It has built-ins, a renovated kitchen, and extra room in the basement. It’s located on the east side near Grosse Pointe.
