One of the most centrally-located loft buildings that doesn’t get a lot of attention is the Leland Lofts, formerly the Nellie Leland School for Crippled Children. Many of the lofts still maintain some unique elements from the school, and they’re located near the Mies van der Rohe townhouses, Eastern Market, and downtown.
This new second-floor listing has one bedroom, one bath, hardwood floors, an elevated kitchen with an island and a fish tank (?), and an open living space. The fish tank is throwing us off; a look back to a listing a few years ago shows the area was just open before. If you’re not into fish, maybe use for as an unusual design piece? The building—listed on the National Register of Historic Places—has gated parking, a community garden, and access to a rooftop deck. HOA fees are $300 per month. It’s listed through Catherine Brown at In House Realty.
