Step right up

When we call this loft “multilevel,” we really mean it; it seems like everywhere you look, it’s a step down to one room or a step up to another. But this two-bedroom unit at the trendy Sixth Street Lofts in Corktown has added appeal: Red Wings legend Steve Yzerman apparently filmed an Art Van commercial here for his line of furniture “designed around a cupholder.”

The loft—zoned for both residential and commercial—spans just over 1,900 square feet, with two bedrooms and one bath. The kitchen looks sunken and almost hidden; it’s certainly not the biggest kitchen we’ve seen, but not everyone needs a big kitchen. The unit also has its own door for sidewalk entry, in case someone wanted to open a gallery or offices here. So flexible! It comes with garage parking and the fun stuff you see inside—pool table, pinball machine—is available. The Sixth Street Lofts are right on the eastern edge of Corktown next to downtown. This one is listed through Harry Stimson at Alexander Real Estate Detroit.
