One of the newer mixed-use developments in the neighborhoods will see new business this weekend. The Coe opened last fall in West Village, and Hatch Detroit winner Live Cycle Delight will expand with a second space in the neighborhood this Friday.

“After opening Live Cycle Delight, I began to notice an increasing demand to practice more yoga variety which was outpacing what we could offer in our current studio,” owner Amina Daniels said. “We saw an opportunity to elevate our yoga offerings and increase efficiency by adding additional classes throughout the day, which is why we decided to expand our brand and open a sister studio.”

LCD Hot—located at 1462 Van Dyke—will offer free classes this weekend for those wanting to try it out. Classes this weekend include pilates, sculpt-lates, pre-natal pilates, and ashtanga and vinyasa yoga.

Hatch Detroit is an annual contest for local businesses looking to open brick-and-mortar storefronts in Detroit. The contest is run through Comerica Bank, with a $50,000 grand prize for the winner. The contest is currently open through July 13 for businesses interested in applying.

The Coe was the first ground-up residential building to come from the Strategic Neighborhoods Fund, which is aiming to boost development in neighborhoods around Detroit.
