At Grinnell Place

Since Ford’s big announcement of its plans to move thousands of employees into Corktown and to renovate Michigan Central Station, residential real estate has been fairly quiet in Detroit’s oldest neighborhood. Now we have a new listing at one of the most popular loft buildings in the neighborhood—the Grinnell Lofts. Once a piano factory, these lofts have high ceilings, expansive windows, and a location right next to downtown.

This unit is coming in at 978 square feet, with an open living space, one bedroom, and a huge bathroom. Also find exposed brick framing the windows, exposed duct work, and hardwood floors. A small balcony overlooks Michigan Avenue and downtown. It’s located near many of the shops and restaurants in Corktown, and a MoGo bike station sits in front of the building. HOA fees are $300 and garage parking is available. This one is asking $399,000, or $408 per square foot. This is definitely on the higher end (per square foot) for Detroit lofts or condos. It’s listed through Thomas Ihrie with Keller Williams.
