Looking for a home in one of Detroit’s most beautiful neighborhoods? Or just dreaming of fixing up a historic home to its original grandeur? We’ve rounded up five homes for sale in Boston-Edison right now, ranging in price from $299,000 up to $599,000. Some have gone through a total rehab, while others could use some love. Which would you choose? Vote in our poll below.
801 Chicago Boulevard: $599,000
We saw this old friend last year, when the beautiful home which needs some refreshing listed for $799,000. Y’all were not having it. It’s loaded with woodwork, tiling, built-ins, and fixtures, but it definitely needs someone with a thoughtful eye for detail to come through and make it grand again. It’s coming in at over 4,530 square feet, and sits on a big corner lot on Chicago Boulevard. It re-listed a few weeks ago with a $200K price chop.
2224 West Boston Boulevard: $479,000
This knockout was in the Land Bank auction just a few years ago. We’re swooning over that fireplace and the fountain in the solarium. Seriously, the houses in this neighborhood are incredible. The six-bedroom house has gone through a modern revamp, but still has a lot of old world charm.
2007 West Boston Boulevard: $435,000
Here’s another handsome home west of the Lodge. This five-bedroom house has gone through a fairly neutral renovation, and it has a new kitchen, a fireplace in the living room, some old and new fixtures in the bathrooms, a sun room, a library, and a finished third floor.
1615 West Boston Boulevard: $319,000
This five-bedroom house also on Boston Boulevard west of the Lodge has something we don’t see very often—an in-ground pool. It’s a maintained house that has a library, more living space in the basement, French doors, a grand foyer, and a two-car garage. It could use some refreshing as well, but it’s priced much lower than its renovated neighbors.
1525 Edison Street: $299,000
And on Edison Street we have a six bedroom, 2,650-square-foot renovation. Inside, find a new kitchen with subway tiling, a fireplace surrounded with built-in shelves, a finished third floor, refinished hardwood floors, and a formal dining room.
