What $170K buys in Detroit right now

Welcome to this week’s Curbed Comparisons, where we look at homes for sale in different neighborhoods around Detroit. Today, we’re looking at houses within $10,000 of our budget: $170,000.

If living near the water is on your wish list, here’s a three-bedroom Gold Coast co-op at the top of our price range. It’s as spacious as the single-family homes, with added amenities like security, a pool, and a fitness center. It’s listed for $180,000.

An unique renovation in Southwest Detroit we saw last week falls into our price range. This house has four bedrooms and one bath, with bold wall colors and a new kitchen. It’s close to shops, restaurants, and parks in Southwest and Corktown, and it’s listed for $165,000.
