Welcome to this week’s Curbed Comparisons, where we look at homes for sale in different neighborhoods around Detroit. Today, we’re looking at houses within $10,000 of our budget: $170,000.
First up is a new renovation in East English Village. It has three bedrooms, one-and-a-half baths, hardwood floors, a striking fireplace in the living room, a cove with benches in the kitchen, new A/C, and curb appeal. It’s close to shops and restaurants in Grosse Pointe, and it’s listing for $169,900.
This one-bedroom condo is located right across the street from the Fisher Building in New Center. It’s cozy, with the combo laundry in a tiny kitchen, and it has a balcony. Gates parking is extra, but the building is located close to the Qline and many bus lines. It’s listing for $169,900.
Here’s a maintained family home in North Rosedale Park. It has three bedrooms, one-and-a-half baths, extra living space in the basement, room for entertaining in the backyard, and a Florida room. Its northwest Detroit location puts it close to freeways and restaurants along Grand River Avenue. It’s listed for $169,900.
If living near the water is on your wish list, here’s a three-bedroom Gold Coast co-op at the top of our price range. It’s as spacious as the single-family homes, with added amenities like security, a pool, and a fitness center. It’s listed for $180,000.
An unique renovation in Southwest Detroit we saw last week falls into our price range. This house has four bedrooms and one bath, with bold wall colors and a new kitchen. It’s close to shops, restaurants, and parks in Southwest and Corktown, and it’s listed for $165,000.
