What $75K buys in Detroit right now

From Morningside to Fitzgerald

Welcome to this week’s Curbed Comparisons, where we look at homes for sale in different neighborhoods around Detroit. Today, we’re looking at houses within $10,000 of our budget: $75,000.

First up is a fixer-upper with a side lot in the North End. It has three bedrooms, one bath, new plumbing and electrical, nice woodwork, wood floors, and new windows. It’s north of Arden Park, a few blocks from Woodward, and it’s listing for $80,000.

This colorful brick house is located in the Fitzgerald neighborhood. Inside, find three bedrooms, a bright red living room with a fireplace, a narrow kitchen with a breakfast nook, one bathroom, and a basement for storage. It’s close to the shops along Livernois and an easy drive to the Lodge. It’s listing for $75,000.

In Morningside, here’s a gray brick three-bedroom home in our price range. The listing states it has new plumbing and electrical, plus one-and-a-half baths and a garage. It’s on the far east side near Grosse Pointe, and it’s listed for $72,888.

This four-bedroom house is bigger than the rest at 1,950 square feet, but it also needs a lot of work. It sits on Glynn Court, on the other side of Boston Boulevard just west of the Lodge. The living room could certainly be fun when fixed up. It’s listing for $75,000.

Also in Morningside is this cute three-bedroom rehabbed home. It has built-ins, a new kitchen, hardwood floors, a big front porch, and a new furnace and hot water heater. It’s listing for $79,000.
