Even for Boston-Edison, a neighborhood overflowing with historic homes, this one on Chicago Boulevard, now on the market, is impressive both inside and out.

The home, built in 1920 in the Georgian Revival style, has a wonderfully restrained brick exterior with corbels, dormers, modest window accents and shutters, and more.

Inside the 4,362-square-foot, five-bedroom home, you’ll find a match of classic and modern elements. There’s some Neoclassical details, like lovely wood paneling and columns on the walls. The living room fireplace—with its marble hearth and decorative columns and mantel—is particularly impressive. There’s also great hardwood floors and a pleasant sunroom facing the backyard.

But it was also recently renovated, and now has a new roof, detached garage, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and much more. There’s fresh coats of paint throughout, a finished third floor, and the kitchen and three and a half bathrooms have all been updated.

Like what you see? 2224 Chicago Boulevard is listed with Nicholas Asplund of Sotheby’s International Realty for $559,000.
