Welcome to this week’s installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can buy for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at home sales at or around $180,000.

This little brick home has a good sized porch and a cute dormer. The interior has a nice layout, and the three bedrooms are comfortably spaced in the single story plus finished attic.

A 1,594-square-foot home on Chalmers Street is listed with Bill Swanson of O’Connor Realty for $99,000. This Sears Roebuck & Company home is in need of a gut rehab. The gorgeous stucco exterior with dormer window and gabled roof seem to be in good shape. But inside, walls and parts of the floor are missing. Though the house has been stabilized and the roof replaced.

This brick building as a fascinating arch over the front entrance on which sits a second-story deck. A 1,350-square-foot home on Birwood Street is listed with Larry Else of Downtown Realty for $99,500. This move-in ready home just west of the Bagley neighborhood was recently renovated. There’s a brand new kitchen, fresh floors, and pristine tiled bathrooms. It also comes with a detached two-car garage.

A 1,278-square-foot home on Leewin Street in the northwest corner of Detroit is listed with Derek Lievens of Market Elite Inc. for $110,000. This brick ranch built in the 1950s was recently renovated and is move-in ready. Most of the updates to the four-bedroom home are plain, but seem perfectly functional. This one is for those looking for a simple home at an affordable price.
