Welcome to this week’s installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can buy for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at home sales at or around $180,000.

Morningside

A 1,448-square-foot home on Audubon Street is listed with Alina Johnson of Legacy Premier Realty Group for $175,000. This three-bedroom brick home built in 1936 has gotten a recent renovation. It now comes with refinished hardwood floors and a brand new kitchen complete with stainless steel appliances.

A 1,548-square-foot home on Kensington Street is listed with Ryan Lally of Keller Williams for $187,900. The attractive Tudor has has lovely stone accents and half-timbering on the outside. On the inside it’s gotten a nice renovation, including a new kitchen, alongside numerous original features like hardwood floors, trim, tiles, and stained-glass windows. There’s also a second-story deck facing the backyard and detached two-car garage.

Boston-Edison

A 3,000-square-foot home on Longfellow Street is listed with Bryan Campbell of Red Carpet Premier for $184,900. One of the most affordable listings in historic Boston-Edison, this white brick home from 1916 has, according to the listing, gotten some new plumbing and electrical and other “cosmetic” updates. The kitchen and bathrooms look builder grade, but there’s definitely a lot of potential here.

Rivertown Warehouse District

A 1,050-square-foot condo in the Lofts at Rivertown building is listed with Jacob De Golish of Alexander Real Estate Detroit for $189,500. This one-bedroom, high-ceilinged unit with concrete floors and exposed brick walls has a new kitchen and open floor plan with room to customize. The $499 per month HOA fee includes an outdoor pool and hot tub, water, gated parking, and more.

Bagley

A 1,800-square-foot home on Indiana Street is listed with Irvin Gilliam of NFH Realty for $174,900. This recently updated, three-bedroom home has gotten some new and refinished wood floors, a brand new kitchen, and more. It’s also got a great fireplace and mantel, as well as a sunroom.
