This all-brick 1940s home is two blocks from Livernois

From the outside, we’re not quite sure if this place looks more like a bar or a home. Either way, it’s pretty unique.

Built in 1941 and owned for years by a piano instructor (so the real estate agent tells us), this all-brick home is in the Art Moderne style. There are actually several others on Outer Drive in that style, all with the distinct curved edges, streamlined appearances, and horizontal windowing. We also like the second-floor terrace overlooking the large backyard.

Inside, it’s got three bedrooms, one full bath, and two half baths spread across 2,020 square feet. The kitchen does need a new floor, some of the other hardwood floors need to be refinished, and a few rooms will require a paint job. Otherwise, the rest of the house looks to be in good shape.

The location is great as well—it’s on the northern edge of the Bagley neighborhood two blocks from Livernois Avenue, which will soon get massive streetscape upgrades.

3015 West Outer Drive is being listed through Gilson Home Group for $225,000.
