Welcome to this week’s installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at rentals at or around $1,600.
Hamtramck
A totally renovated 1,200-square-foot one-bedroom or office on Joseph Campau in Hamtramck is renting through Detroit Loft Living for $1,650 a month. The space was gutted and now has an open floor plan with brand new bathroom and kitchen that includes an island, induction stovetop, and quartz countertop. The original hardwood floors have been beautifully restored as well.
Midtown
There’s units available in one of the more impressive and careful apartment restoration projects in the city. A 565-square-foot, one-bedroom unit in the Hamilton on Davenport Street is renting for $1,623 a month. The units themselves are nice and updated with modern finishes and appliances. There’s also a lot of shared space, including a gorgeous lobby, fitness center, bike repair shop, and more.
New Center
A one-bedroom unit in the beautiful Graphic Arts Lofts building on Burroughs Street is renting for $1,495. The building has a lovely stone facade with nice arches. Inside the 800-square-foot unit, there’s an open floor plan with wall-length industrial-style windows. It also comes with a private entrance and patio. Gated parking can be purchased for another $80 per month.
Woodbridge
A two-bedroom unit in a duplex on Lincoln Street is renting for $1,600 a month. The 1,000-square-foot apartment has gotten a striking renovation, including a modern kitchen with angular backsplash and marble countertops. The bathroom has textured tiles and a luxury shower fixture. The unit’s also got some nice exposed brick accents.
West Village
There’s a few units available in the 1000 West building on Van Dyke Avenue, including a two-bedroom unit renting for $1,620 a month. It’s 863 square feet and has more modern amenities than most apartments outside the urban core. There’s also some stunning artistic features on the exterior and in the lobby of this 1920s high-rise, like stone columns, ceiling tiles, and elaborate carvings on the wood panels.
