Jeff Goldblum—the highly-memeable actor who played iconic roles in The Fly, Jurassic Park, and Independence Day—travelled to Detroit this week for somewhat mysterious reasons. Predictably, the internet freaked out.
Goldblum visited various businesses and sites in the city, with a camera in tow, and seemed to enjoy his time here. He went to the Detroit Bikes shop to see how the bikes are made and buy one for himself, which he then rode in a Slow Roll ride Monday night around Rouge Park.
Detroit Bikes owner and president Zakary Pashak told the Detroit Free Press that “Goldblum enjoyed checking out the factory.”
He also dined at Gold Cash Gold.
There’s speculation that the actor is filming for a new National Geographic series called The World According to Jeff Goldblum, which will air on the Disney+ streaming service later this year. National Geographic declined to comment to the Free Press.
Goldblum is also a musician—he came out with a jazz album last year—and has charmed many with his quirky and easygoing persona. Check out some photos and reactions on social media to his visit to Detroit.
This lady at the Tiger’s game saw me wearing my Jeff Goldblum shirt and told me that she got a picture of him in Detroit yesterday and I- pic.twitter.com/LgodkHmQ1t— awkwardlyasha (@AshaSmith2) August 6, 2019
