It’s been a long time since Detroit hosted a major home and garden show. That will change in 2020.
On March 21 and 22 next year, TCF Center (formerly Cobo Center) will be the site of the Detroit Spring Home & Garden Show. It will be the first time Detroit has hosted an event of this kind in 17 years.
“Given the tremendous amount of redevelopment happening in Detroit, we felt it was the perfect time to bring an event like this back to the city,” Mark Nicholson, the show’s producer, told Curbed Detroit by email.
The event will allow guests to connect with over 200 vendors—contractors, artisans, developers—in 200,000 square feet of event space. Vendor space starts at $1,100.
There will be home improvement seminars on topics like interior design, bathroom and kitchen remodeling, and gardening. Nicole Curtis, host HGTV’s Rehab Addict and native metro Detroiter, will also be leading seminars.
In addition, attendees will be able to access “show only” discounts, home makeover giveaways, and free in-person appraisals of antiques.
The organizers hope to attract 50,000 attendees. Tickets, which will go on sale December 1, will be $10 for adults and free for children age 12 and younger.
The Detroit Spring Home & Garden Show is produced by Gazette Media Group and the presenting sponsor is Rocket Loans, part of the Quicken Loans family of businesses.
