When homes in Woodbridge sell these days, they tend to go for $300,000 and up. One that just hit the market is a bit more affordable, though the next owners might want to put a little work into it.
The 1,923-square-foot home on Commonwealth Street is listed with Todd Sykes of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Loft Warehouse for $265,000.
Built in 1909, it’s got an attractive brick exterior with a covered porch and blue-painted cedar shake outside the third floor.
Inside the four-bedroom home, there’s some great wood molding on the floor trim, doors, and windows. It’s also got a handsome wood staircase that connects both the kitchen and foyer. And the large living room has a nice wood mantel around the glazed-brick fireplace.
Among the work new homeowners might want to tackle: refinishing the hardwood floors, redoing the bathroom, updating the kitchen with new appliances and replacing the linoleum countertops, painting and plastering in a few places, and landscaping in the backyard.
The home, however, has gotten some updates over the last eight years. According to the realtor, there’s a new furnace, air conditioner, hot water heater, windows, shingle roof, and more.
