See what you can get in neighborhoods like Bagley, Jefferson Chalmers, and Grandmont-Rosedale

Welcome to this week’s installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can buy for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at home sales at or around $150,000.

A 1,676-square-foot home on San Juan Drive is listed with Omar Ghazzawi of Keller Williams for $158,500. The three-bedroom home built in 1927 has gotten a major interior remodel, including refinished floors, updated kitchen with new backsplash and granite countertops, and carpeted bedrooms. We also like the living room, which has a great fireplace with built-in shelves on either side.

A 1,803-square-foot home on Longacre Street is listed with Jay Taylor of Keller Williams for $149,000. This three-bedroom home built in 1930 has an attractive brick exterior and big yard—as well as a deck and detached two-car garage in the back. The home overall is in great shape, but new owners might want to invest a little into renovation to resurface the fireplace or update the kitchen.

A 1,702-square-foot Tudor on Lakewood Street is listed with Daniel Ericksen of Sotheby’s International Realty for $150,000. Probably the most interesting home on this list, it’s got a stucco exterior with brick accents around the windows. The home from 1924 also has a nice mix of original features—fixtures, woodwork, built-in cabinets—and updates like the kitchen that comes with new cabinets and countertops.

A huge three-story, 6,480-square-foot duplex on King Street is listed with The Delia Group for $150,000. Both units have gotten a kind of white box treatment—neutral paint job, carpeted floors, new windows. That said, there’s still a little work to do on the exterior and the addition in the back. The duplex comes with a tenant through 2020 paying $950 per month.

A 1,868-square-foot home on Princeton Street is listed with Jay Taylor of Keller Williams for $145,000. This attractive four-bedroom home has some nice Tudor features on the exterior, like half-timbering and stone accents. This well-maintained place has refinished hardwood floors, new hot water heater, new roof, and more. There’s also a cute breakfast nook with built-in cabinets, an office space with views of the back yard, and a detached two-car garage.
