See what you can get in neighborhoods like Midtown, North End, and East English Village

Welcome to this week’s installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at rentals at or around $1,000.

Midtown

A 533-square-foot unit in a multi-family building on Willis Street is renting through Alexander Real Estate Detroit for $1,025 per month. It’s is in a classic three-story brick building known as The Keyes. Inside the one-bedroom unit, there’s refinished hardwood floors, a combined kitchen and living space, and an updated bathroom with white tiles. Though small, it’s in a great location and is fully updated. $50 covers all utilities.

Rivertown

A two-bedroom unit in the Pasadena Apartments just off East Jefferson is renting for $1,150 a month. The 11-story building was built in 1902 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The first two stories are made of limestone and the rest are brick. The units themselves have been fully renovated. There’s 24-hour laundry on site and all utilities are included.

East English Village

A 1,373-square-foot home on Harvard Road is renting for $1,150 a month. This super cute home has a great brick exterior with stone accents around the door and windows. Inside, there’s three bedrooms, one of which is on the small second-story. The kitchen has been updated with a new floor and countertops. We also love the blue-tiled bathroom.

North End

A 900-square-foot unit in a brick fourplex on Westminster Street is renting through PREP Realty for $1,000 a month. This newly-renovated, three-bedroom unit just got refinished hardwood floors, all new kitchen appliances, and a brand new bathroom. Water, laundry, and snow removal are included in the rent. The building also comes with a gated parking lot and security system.

Cass Corridor

A 680-square-foot unit in The Trenton on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard is renting for $1,005 a month. This unit in a handsome brick and stone apartment building has been recently renovated and comes with refinished hardwood floors, and new cabinets and appliances. It also includes on-site parking.
