Welcome to this week’s installment of Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent for a certain dollar amount in various Detroit neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at rentals at or around $2,500.
Downtown
A 946-square-foot unit in the Book Cadillac building on Shelby Street is renting for $2,400 per month. The one-bedroom unit has a new kitchen with a passthrough to the living room. It’s also on the 27th-floor unit has views of the surrounding area. The building itself has amenities like a private concierge, indoor pool, and fitness center.
Corktown
A 1,237-square-foot unit at the recently completed Elton Park off Trumbull Avenue is renting for $2,450 per month. There’s a variety of floor plans available in the 151-unit development, but this one in the Robertson building has two bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, and connected kitchen, dining, and living rooms. The apartment in the four-story brick building comes with covered parking, Rocket Fiber internet, and in-unit laundry.
Midtown
A 1,500-square-foot unit in on 3rd Street duplex is renting for $2,750 per month. The unique building was formerly a funeral parlor, church, and art center, but was converted into condos in 2017. This unit has great arched windows overlooking the street. The open floor plan has a modern kitchen with island. There’s also two bathrooms and bedrooms.
West Village
A 1,966-square-foot townhome on Agnes Street is renting for $2,700 per month. This large, attached single-family has four bedrooms spread across several floors. The living room has a fireplace with some nice built-in shelves, there’s skylights in the upper story, and the renovated unit has refinished hardwood floors throughout.
New Center
A 1,593-square-foot unit in the Lofts at New Amsterdam building on 2nd Avenue is renting for $2,470 per month. Renovated in 2010, the unit has classic loft features: high ceilings, exposed brick and ductwork, open floor plan, oversized windows, and more. The two-bedroom apartment also comes with internet and cable, gated parking, and in-unit laundry.
