When we first brought your our public art map last December, we knew Detroit was pretty hot for art, but the scene had not quite exploded yet. Enter the Detroit Beautification Project. The effort brought 25 internationally renowned street artists to Detroit and Hamtramck to create expansive public arts projects starting in May. And it is still going! By the end of the summer we'll surely have a more colorful city, whether everyone is on board with that or not. In the meantime, we've gone back to our map and added some of the other offerings that paved the way for something like the DBP to exist. So keep us posted if the DBP visits your neighborhood so that we can can add the newest stuff to the next map. And please, if you notice we've forgotten an artist credit (these things can be hard to track down) just drop us a line.
