Shelborne Development to Bring Seward Street Back to Life

View as Map

Shelborne Development is based in Indian Village, but they've spent the last several years quite busy helping restore neighborhoods farther north. Best known as the heroes behind much of Palmer Park's rental resurgence, Shelborne brought several classic buildings like the Sarasota, Seville, and Palmer Lodge apartments back from the brink. As many of those restored apartments are getting set to come online, Shelborne is heading to New Center's historic Seward Street. According to Model D, they've now purchased six apartment buildings on the densely packed block between Woodward Avenue and 2nd Street. Their plan? Spend the next few years renovating over 100 apartments, bringing one of Detroit's best streets back to life.
Here are the buildings Shelborne Development has acquired, and their plans for renovation. Click on the photos for a bigger view.
